    Responsibilities

    If you are looking to work alongside a team of highly energetic, passionate and driven people, then this opportunity may be for you. Reporting to the Chief Credit Officer, here are the key things this person will be doing:

    • Analyze credit origination trends (industries, schools and borrowers) to ensure that originations quality stays up to benchmarked expectations
    • Consistently monitor and report on originated portfolio performance, including servicer collections performance and loss vintages
    • Develop a loss forecasting framework to ensure that observed performance is in line with modeled expectations
    • Develop early warning indicators to flag potential course corrections on originations and/or portfolio management strategies
    • Explore alternative data sources and analyze their applicability to improving credit policies and portfolio performance

    Qualifications

    Qualifications

    Working closely with all other organizational units (Underwriting, Operations, Sales and IT), this person will meet the following requirements:

     

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an applied quantitative field such as Engineering, Economics, Statistics, Operations Research or Finance
    • At least 7-10 years of experience working with credit data, such as Originations credit policy, Servicing and Collections analytics and Loss forecasting / loan loss reserves
    • Strong communicator, including experience presenting analyses and recommendations to audiences such as senior management, major investors and the Board of Directors
    • Solid knowledge of statistical techniques such as classification trees, linear and logistic regression, gradient boosting, etc.; but statistical modeling experience is not required
    • Very fluent in writing SQL queries, as well as at least one commonly used data science tool, such as Python, R or SAS; with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
    • Experience managing small analytical teams (2-5 FTE)
    • Experience with data visualization and Business Intelligence (BI) tools
